9 Tips to Help Rebuild Your Credit

Wanting to repair your credit? If so, you are not alone. There are a lot of reasons why your credit can be less than desired. However, finding the solutions to repair it can be found below:

1) Catch up on any missed payments. If you are having trouble making the payments, contact the creditor to work out a payment plan.

2) Make sure you pay any other bills or debt on time going forward. Your payment history is the biggest factor in your credit score. Setting up automatic payments might help to keep up with paying on time, just be sure to never overdraw your account.

3) Fix any errors in your credit report. 70% of creditors have them so there is a good chance yours does too. You can get a free copy of your credit report every 12 months at annual credit report300px-Credit-score-chart.svg_

4) If you don’t have credit that can be a problem.  It takes credit to get credit. A good place to start is getting a secured card. These cards require you deposit money usually equal to the credit limit. After a few on time payments, try to upgrade to an unsecured card. Start with department store cards because they are usually easier to obtain.

5) The second most important credit factor is the amount of credit that you use. Try to pay down your credit card debt as much as possible and avoid closing any accounts. Do not open too many new accounts as it can hurt your credit score.

6) The length of your credit history is another credit factor. Avoid closing accounts that you have had for a long time. If you have a card with high fee’s ask to switch to a card with lower fee’s or no annual fee.

7) New Inquiries can also affect your credit score. Be careful of applying for credit or allowing to many credit agencies to check your credit.

8) You can also hire agencies that help rebuild your credit. The top ten credit repair companies can be found in the link below:

9) If you pay or settle a tax debt that resulted in a tax lien on your credit report, you may be able to get that lien completely removed from your reports.

Add to your to do list when you pay your bills to check your credit score, monitor your progress and set new goals for the upcoming month. Also, be on the lookout for misspelling of your name, or an address you never lived at, this could indicate someone is using your credit or it is getting mixed up with someone else’s.

Karey was great!! She went above and beyond to find my family the perfect home. We were first time buyers and she took the time to explain things to us, she was on top of all the paper work and emails & walked us through the whole process !

Karey is a top notch Realtor! I highly recommend her! She goes above and beyond and works hard to get what you want in buying and selling of your home! I have used other realtor's and would never use anyone other than her again!

I am absolutely DELIGHTED to offer my review of Karey. We contacted her at the beginning of February, 2016. We had been offered a purchase price on the house that we had been renting for a year....and we had NO IDEA what to do next. My friend, who bought... (more)
